  What is human hearing?

Human hearing ranges from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz frequency, but varies greatly from person to person. The frequency range of sound produced by ordinary sound system speakers is 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The following table gives the hearing range of different animals.

The auditory limit is not calculated in decibels (dB) units. Decibel is a unit of measurement of the intensity of sound, that is, a measure of how loud a sound is.

Humans can typically tolerate a maximum of 140 dB of noise, 150 dB can rupture the eardrum, and 180-200 dB can cause death.

dB is the unit of measurement of the intensity of sound and Hz is the unit of measurement of vibrations generated per second. There is no direct relationship between the two.

People hear sounds from a minimum of 20 Hz to a maximum of 20,000 Hz. The unit of measurement of sound intensity is called decibels. 1 Hz = 0.1 decibels. Humans can normally tolerate noise up to a maximum of 105 decibels. Ear pain starts at 140 decibels. At 180 decibels, the ear tissue dies instantly. And becomes deaf.
